Sometimes during the process of painting, magical things happen. Colors blend together just so, shapes merge together and reappear again in perfect form, or an unintended brushstroke ends up in just the right place - what artists call "happy accidents." They are unplanned and unexpected, yet much appreciated. This weekend at the beach, our daughter built a large, free-form, drippy sandcastle. Look closely at the two photos below. There is a perfectly placed small window near the top of the castle. Is this a sandcastle building engineering feat? Or a "happy accident?" She'll never tell... Learn to really appreciate these unexpected gifts. Say "thank you", maybe take a little of the credit, and then get back to work - with a smile on your face, of course.
